I come in the space towards a pile of birch trees are laying, with a knife I make superficial cuts on the bark and carefully take it apart. On opposite side I have placed a wooden board on the floor to which I start nailing the pieces or bark after cut, I move back and forth from the trees to the board, nailing as much I can hold in my hands. The audience understands my action and some decide to take part by separating the bark from the trunks as I continue nailing. When the wooden boards are covered with bark, I extend a roll of rice paper and by rubbing a block of charcoal I make a frottage of the bark texture. The white paper and the dark traces create a second bark. I move back to the pile of birch trees that lay in the same place but without their skin and I proceed to start cutting pieces off the drawn roll of paper, gluing them to the trunk. Once I have finished I stand and say out loud: TUOHI (Touhi: Birchbark in Finnish)

Entro al espacio con una pila de troncos de abedul. Con un cuchillo comienzo a desprender la corteza de los árboles para llevarlas al lado opuesto donde tengo unos páneles de madera. Ahí clavo las cortezas moviéndome ida y vuelta con las manos llenas de corteza. Varias personas se unieron a mi acción, ayudándome a cortar y desprender las cortezas, las cuales me llevaban para que yo pudiera concentrarme en sólo clavar. Al terminar de llenar los páneles saqué un rollo de papel arroz y con un pedazo de carbón comencé a hacer un frottage, reproduciendo las texturas de las cortezas en el papel. Así se creó una segunda piel para los árboles, los cuales del otro lado permanecían desnudos. Regreso a los troncos con el papel dibuajdo y corto pedazos para pegarlos encima de los troncos desnudos. La acción concluye cuando todos los papeles han sido adheridos a los troncos, me levanto y digo TUOHI (Touhi: corteza de abedul en finés).
